Join us this weekend on C-SPAN2's Book TV and C-SPAN3's American History TV (AHTV) as we explore the literary life and history of Albany, New York.

All weekend long on Book TV we present interviews with local authors and hear about special collections and the literary culture of Albany. On AHTV, we take you to different historic sites as we learn about New York's capitol city.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicle staff traveled to Albany to gather this programming and also worked with our Time Warner Cable partners to visit schools and meet with local officials while there.

- UNY Albany Library Special Collections as we see their Death Penalty books and artifacts collection.

- Author Sally Friedman talk about her book “Dilemmas of Representation: Local Politics, National Factors, and the Home Styles of Modern US Congress Members.”
- Author Jack Casey on his book on the first-ever Native American saint “Kateri Tekakwitha: Lily of the Mohawks.”
- Author and Port Commissioner of Albany Robert Cross talks about the sinking of German U-boats during World War II.
