Historian and researcher John McCavitt looks at the British perspective of the burning of Washington during the War of 1812. Major General Robert Ross led British troops into Washington in 1814 and ultimately made the decision to burn many public buildings, including the White House. The U.S. Capitol Historical Society hosted this event.
