A former U.S. ambassador to Egypt Edward Walker said that Hosni Mubarak had lost control of the Egyptian Army and could not maintain stability in the country. His comments came during a panel discussion with a former British ambassador to Tunisia. The two discussed the political situations in both countries, their implications for the broader Middle East and the role Western governments play in the region. The Middle East Instituted hosted this event.
