Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney spoke at the RNC State Chairmen's Meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona. He targeted his comments on President Obama, in what many are seeing as a move to the general election.
Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), the GOP presidential nominee in 2008, also addressed the conference.
Many GOP leaders have begun to endorse Romney, the party's front-runner. The endorsements have picked up considerably since former GOP Presidential candidate Rick Santorum, who has yet to endorse the presumptive nominee, left the race last week.
Around 40 of the RNC’s 50 state GOP chairmen, along with GOP officials, activists and political professionals, were expected to attend the meeting.
