Montana Sen. Jon Tester (D) and Congressman Denny Rehberg (R) squared off in one of the closest Senate races in the country. Cook Political Report rates this race a “toss up.”
Rep. Rehberg passed up a bid for a seventh term to challenge Sen. Tester for the U.S. Senate seat while three outside candidates vie to replace Rehberg's congressional seat.
According to the Politico, "both sides concede that the race is virtually deadlocked ahead of three crucial debates.”
A panel of journalists questioned the candidates in front of a live audience at the Petro Theater on the campus of MSU-Billings. This debate is courtesy MontanaPBS.
