Motion Picture Association's CEO Addresses the National Press Club

Washington, DC
Friday, February 15, 2013

Ahead of this year's Academy Awards, Chris Dodd, chairman and CEO of the Motion Picture Association of America, spoke to an audience of reporters at a National Press Club Speakers Luncheon.

Dodd talked about the state of the motion picture industry and the challenges it faces in an ever-changing technological landscape.  Following his speech, he answered audience questions.

The former Connecticut senator was appointed to lead the Hollywood organization in March 2011. He has been tasked to combat Internet piracy while providing a voice for an industry often criticized.

In 2010, then-Senator Dodd helped pass the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, which was designed to reduce the chance of another U.S. financial meltdown.
