Next Steps for the Occupy Movement

Boston, MA
Thursday, December 6, 2012

The Occupy movement has entered its second year and many are asking about the condition and future of the movement.  The Boston Review and MIT’s Political Science Department bring together a panel of Occupy organizers, journalists and political experts for the discussion.

The group talks about strategies for advancing the “Occupy Movement.”  They also review the 2012 elections and discuss the ability of the Obama administration and the Democratic Party to address the issues important to the movement.

Stanford Ethics Center's Debra Satz moderates this panel where Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Chris Hedges and MIT Professor J. Phillip Thompson along with Occupy Boston organizer Nadeem Mazen examine the attention the Occupy movement has drawn to societal problems as well as its potential to re-democratize American politics.
