Chinese President Hu Jintao made a trip to Washington focused on business ties between the two countries. During the four day trip, Pres. Obama and Pres. Hu held a formal welcoming ceremony, conduct bilateral meetings and a state dinner at the White House.
Chinese President Hu Jintao’s arrival to White House grounds began with an official state visit welcoming ceremony, followed by remarks by President Obama and President Hu. After meeting privately, the two leaders held a joint press conference at the White House. Later in the evening, President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama hosted a state dinner in honor of President Hu.
This will mark President Hu's final trip to Washington as he is expected to retire his leadership of the Communist Party in 2012 and step down from the presidency the following year.
