Sir Mervyn A. King, the outgoing Governor of the Bank of England, speaks at The Economic Club of New York about challenges facing the global economy.
The Bank of England recently downgraded its outlook for the British economy, based on banking problems in the Euro Zone and the sluggish recovery in the U.S. and Asia.
Mr. King's replacement is Mark Carney, current governor of the Canadian central bank.
The Governor's speech is introduced by Roger W. Ferguson, Jr., Economic Club Chairman. Abby Joseph Cohen of Goldman Sachs & Co. and R. Glenn Hubbard, Dean of the Columbia Business School, will question Mr. King following his speech.
