On Thursday, the Aspen Institute hosted a conversation with Republican governors on contentious policy issues. All five governors are considered potential running mates for presumptive presidential nominee Mitt Romney.
The event featured Governors Chris Christie (R-NJ), Nikki Haley (R-SC), Bobby Jindal (R-LA), Bob McDonnell (R-VA) and Scott Walker (R-WI). Aspen Institute President and CEO, Walter Isaacson, moderated the conversation as part of their McCloskey Speaker Series.
The conversation touched on a variety of current topics, from gun control to education reform to immigration policy. The panel also took audience questions.
The Aspen Institute has hosted Republican governors for several years, though Aspen Institute's Walter Isaacson stressed the organization is nonpartisan.
