Pres. Obama Announces New SEC Chairman

Pres. Obama announced this afternoon that he will nominate Attorney Mary Jo White to lead the Securities and Exchange Commission. She will replace Mary Schapiro who recently stepped down from that position. The President also formally nominated Richard Cordray to head up the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). Cordray is currently running the CFPB as a recess appointment. That appointment runs out later this year.
