Following up on his announcement last week urging Congress to prevent student loan interest rates from rising this summer, President Obama travels to North Carolina, Colorado and Iowa to discuss the issues with college students.
According to the White House, more than 7.4 million students with federal loans will see interest rates double on July 1st without Congressional action. The student interest rate would double from 3.4 to 6.8 percent.
Today, the President spoke at the University of North Carolina and the University of Colorado at Boulder.
