Pres. Obama Pays Tribute to 2012 Kennedy Center Honorees

Washington, DC
Sunday, December 2, 2012

President Obama delivers remarks in celebration of the 2012 Kennedy Center honorees.  This year’s honorees include: Blues guitarist and singer Buddy Guy, actor and director Dustin Hoffman, comedian and late night TV host David Letterman, and ballerina Natalia Makarova.

Also honored were members of the rock band Led Zeppelin including musicians John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page and singer Robert Plant.

In jest, the President talks about the diversity of the recipients saying they have “no business being in the same room together.” After talking about ballerina Natalia Makarova, he says there’s "no smooth transition" from her to Led Zeppelin and jokes about the band’s past legendary partying antics.
