Pres. Obama delivered a statement at the White House on the steps his administration will take on gun control in the wake of the shooting in Newtown, Conn. last Friday.
He announced a White House task force on gun violence led by Vice President Joe Biden to look into possible policy changes.
He also said he is prepared to do “tough things” when it comes to adverting the so-called "fiscal cliff" and that there is “no reason” for a deal not to be reached.
Earlier this week, President Obama met with Secretaries of Education, Health and Human Services and Attorney General Eric Holder on how the administration can move forward in reducing gun violence.
