President Obama Discusses the 'Fiscal Cliff' at the Business Roundtable

Washington, DC
Wednesday, December 5, 2012

President Obama made remarks Wednesday about efforts to resolve the so-called "fiscal cliff" when he addressed more than 100 business executives at today's meeting of the Business Roundtable.

To date, negotiations between the White House and Congress remain stalled as President Obama and House Speaker Boehner have turned down each other's proposals to prevent mandated tax increases and spending cuts from taking place at the beginning of the new year.

The Business Roundtable, an association of chief executive officers of leading U.S. companies, has launched the media campaign, "It's Time to Act," encouraging Washington to take action on the so-called "fiscal cliff" during the "lame-duck" session of Congress.
