President Obama traveled to eastern Iowa, to talk about manufacturing and the economy. Earlier, President Obama toured the Alcoa Davenport Works factory, an aluminum factory specializing in aerospace products in the city of Bettendorf. The plant just announced a new, third generation, aluminum-lithium alloy to makes planes lighter, corrosion resistant, and more cost effective to build.
