WH Modifies Rule on Preventive Health Services and Religious Institutions

Washington, DC
Friday, February 10, 2012

President Obama announced that his administration is modifying rules for religious organizations when dealing with health care and birth control. Under the new rule, employees of religious charities or hospitals will have their insurance companies pay for and offer preventive contraceptive services at no cost to the employer or employee.

The religious organization will no longer have to directly offer or pay for these services.
