On May 14, 1607, 104 English settlers landed on Jamestown Island to establish a colony for the Virginia Company. Today, we visit the site of the long lost fort, rediscovered in 1994 by William Kelso, Director of the Jamestown Rediscovery Archeological Project.
We hear the archeologist's story, and take a tour of the dig. We also meet Senior Curator Bly Straube, who describes life in the colony while showing us some of the 1.5 million artifacts collected at the site.
Following a 60 minute American Artifacts program, Mr. Kelso and Bly Straube, Senior Curator for the project take viewer calls from Jamestown Island, Virginia.
