House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) briefed reporters on the latest in the so-called “fiscal cliff” negotiations. Over the past week, both the White House and House Republicans offered proposals on the fiscal cliff. Leader Pelosi called the recent Republican proposal an “assault on the middle class, seniors and the future, while urging House Republicans to pass a middle class tax cut.
Lawmakers have until the end of this month before budget cuts and tax increases begin take effect in January.
