Rep. Pelosi to Stay in Congress and Run Again as Minority Leader

Washington, DC
Wednesday, November 14, 2012

House Minority Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) met with members of the media where she announced that she will stay in congress and run for another term as Democratic leader in the House. Leadership elections for the House Democrats are scheduled to take place on November 29. She made her announcement at a briefing with House Democratic women members for the 113th congress.

Reports had surfaced in the media that suggest that Rep. Pelosi (D-CA) was at least considering stepping down from her role as party leader, and is possibly considering a full retirement from the House of Representatives.

She is currently serving her 13th term in Congress and was re-elected in last week's elections from her largely Democratic district in San Francisco, Calif.
