Richard Nixon and New Federalism

Washington, DC
Saturday, November 5, 2011

It was part of what President Nixon called New Federalism, which embodied his administration’s policy to reduce the size and scope of the federal government.

This summer, the Nixon Presidential Library hosted a forum to discuss what Richard Nixon did during his presidency to shift power from the federal government to state and local governments.

The panel was made up of Nixon administration officials who were involved in implementing New Federalism.
