Ahead of the G-8 summit, three ambassadors and the leader of the U.S.-Russia Business Council discussed the relationship between the U.S and Russia.
The G-8 Summit takes place in May at Camp David and will be followed by NATO meetings in Chicago. Russia announced this week that President Vladimir Putin would not be attending the G-8, sending former President Dmitri Medvedev in his place. President Putin and President Obama will meet in June at the G-20 Summit.
Ambassador John Beyrle of the U.S. Department of State and former U.S. Ambassador to Russia(2008-2012); Ambassador Sergei Kisyak of the Russian Federation to the United States; Klaus Kleinfeld Chairman and CEO of Alcoa Inc. and Chairman of the U.S.-Russia Business Council; and Ambassador Susan C. Schwab Mayer Brown, LLP of the University of Maryland will speak to the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
