Scott Cleland with GoogleMonitor.com & David Balto, Antitrust Attorney

Washington, DC
Friday, September 23, 2011

On this The Communicators, Scott Cleland with the website GoogleMonitor.com and President of Precursor.com and former Commissioner of the Federal Trade Commission and current antitrust attorney David Balto join the program to discuss Google’s business practices. Google has come under fire for its business practices as the search engine expands into providing consumer products and services. Critics say Google is using its position as the popular search engine to steer web users to its own products.

The Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Antitrust, Competition Policy & Consumer Rights held a hearing Wednesday on if Google is violating antitrust laws where Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt testified, as did internet company executives critical of Google.

The Communicators airs Saturday at 6:30 pm ET on C‑SPAN and Monday at 8 am and 8 pm ET on C‑SPAN 2.
