Sen. Coats (R-IN) Addresses Council on Foreign Relations

Washington, DC
Thursday, January 24, 2013

Indiana Senator and Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security Ranking Member Dan Coats says making the case for foreign aid will be difficult given America’s fiscal issues and less public support for it. Sen. Coats added it’s crucial to persuade the public that taxpayer dollars are being used efficiently and sent to countries where there are U.S. interests at stake.

His comments came during a discussion at the Council on Foreign Relations Thursday in Washington, DC where he was the featured guest.

Washington Post Editorial Writer Charles Lane moderated the conversation.
