Majority Whip, Sen. Dick Durbin says Democrats must be open to painful topics as talks continue on the “fiscal cliff” and deficit reduction.
Sen. Durbin was the featured speaker at the Center for American Progress on Tuesday.
The “fiscal cliff” is a combination of expiring tax provisions & budget cuts which begin to take effect in the new year. They include the Bush-era tax cuts and sequestration or automatic defense & domestic spending cuts.
