Sen. Dick Lugar (R-IN), the top Republican on the Foreign Relations
Committee, gives his thoughts on recent news from the Middle East, especially the withdrawal of U.S. combat forces from Iraq. Next week, President Obama is scheduled to give a major foreign policy speech about achieving his campaign promise to pullout of Iraq, and the agreement to restart the Middle East peace talks in September. These are the first peace talks in 20 months.
