Senate Banking Cmte. Looks at Section 8 Housing Reform

More than 3 million low-income families rely on Section 8 and other public housing assistance programs run by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

The Senate Banking Committee looks at ways to improve and streamline these programs, based on recommendations offered during a subcommittee hearing on the issue this past August.

The chief witness is Honorable Sandra B. Henriquez, assistant secretary for HUD's Office of Public and Indian Housing.

Sen. Tim Johnson (D-SD) chairs the hearing.
