Washington, DC
Thursday, June 21, 2012

The Acting Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Michael P. Huerta testified before the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee as it considers his nomination for the post.

Mr. Huerta has served in the acting role since his predecessor, Randy Babbitt, in December. Prior to that, he was the deputy administrator of the agency since June 2010.

Senators asked about a number of recently implemented programs dealing with flight safety, including programs to address pilot fatigue, and about the implementation of the FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012.

Senator John Rockefeller (D-WV) chairs the hearing.
