Senate Cmte. Looks at Older Americans Act

Washington, DC
Tuesday, December 11, 2012

The Republican staff of the Senate Committee on Aging holds a briefing on the needs of older Americans. The meeting was held in conjunction with the release of a GAO report looking at state funding for programs under the Older Americans Act.

The Act was passed in 1965 to provide social services to older adults. The law also established the Administration on Aging to administer grant programs and serve as a focal point on matters concerning older people.
