On Newsmakers, Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA), chair of the Health Education Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee, discusses the reauthorization of No Child Left Behind, the federal education law that standardized American education and was implemented ten years ago. His committee recently passed a new version of the law, and the Senate still needs to take up the measure.
Senator Harkin also discussed the status of health care legislation following President Obama’s withdrawal of support for a long-term care program known as the CLASS Act.
