Senators Rob Portman of Ohio and Marco Rubio of Florida, who have been both mentioned as possible Vice Presidential running mates with Mitt Romney, addressed the Faith & Freedom Coalition conference Thursday at their kick-off luncheon in Washington, DC.
Faith & Freedom Coalition Chairman Ralph Reed and Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) also spoke at the event.
The Senators have each joined the Republican presidential candidate on the campaign trail this year. Senator Portman is also scheduled to campaign with Mitt Romney again this Sunday during the former Governor's bus tour of Ohio.
The Faith & Freedom Coalition is a "grassroots organization of hardworking Americans who love our country and want to preserve this
great nation to the next generation " The theme of the conference is "America at a Crossroads" and is billed by organizers as "an important training and equipping weekend" for state chapters, members and supporters preparing for the 2012 elections.
