Statue of Liberty's Transatlantic Story

New York, NY
Wednesday, July 4, 2012

Celebrating the 125th anniversary of the dedication of the Statue of Liberty, the Museum of Jewish Heritage hosts a discussion with author Edward Berenson on the transatlantic story of the Statue of Liberty.

Mr. Berenson talks about the Statue’s improbable beginnings, controversies and changing meanings of this American symbol.  The conversation follows the story to the present day, showing how the Lady's meaning has changed from one generation to the next.

Edward Berenson is a professor of history and French studies at New York University.
