Mildred Gillars, known by her nickname Axis Sally, was an American radio broadcaster employed by the Nazis during World War II.
 
After the war she was deported to America and then tried and convicted of treason for her involvement in the creation and disbursement of Nazi propaganda.

Historian Richard Lucas takes a look at the life of Mildred Gillars and examines what factors led her to become “Axis Sally.”
