The Presidency: Truman's Civil Liberties Legacy

Washington, DC
Sunday, September 4, 2011

A symposium exploring civil liberties and the Truman Administration brought scholars together in Key West, Florida – home to Harry Truman’s vacation White House.

Throughout September, we’ll air panel discussions on topics ranging from McCarthyism to The Hiss Case to the 33rd president’s relations with Japanese Americans.

Next, we hear presentations on the Truman Presidency and the FBI, and on the administration’s controversial "Loyalty-Security Program."
