The U.N. General Assembly gathered today to consider the situation in Libya and voted to remove the country from the U.N. Human Rights Council.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told the United Nations Human Rights Council yesterday that the Obama administration is considering every option against Gadhafi and that nothing is off the table.

She confirmed this today while testifying at a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing on U.S. foreign policy priorities. Much of the hearing focused on the ongoing violence in Libya and how the State Department is monitoring protests.

The U.N. has gathered for several sessions over the past week with foreign heads of state speaking on human rights issues arising from the conflict. The United Nations has stated that hundreds maybe thousands of civilians may have been killed or wounded in Libya, and tens of thousands have escaped the country into Egypt and Tunisia.
