U.S. Coast Guard Hearing on the Deepwater Horizon Explosion from Houston - Day 3

In Houston, the joint U.S. Coast Guard & Bureau of Energy Management investigation into the Deepwater Horizon rig explosion continues into its third day. Witnesses include the BP executive in charge of drilling operations and Transocean employees who worked on the rig’s blowout preventer. The failure of the giant system of valves on the sea floor to close the well in an emergency has been a principal focus of the investigation into the April 20 rig explosion.
