The United States declared war on Great Britain on June 18, 1812 and hostilities continued until the Treaty of Ghent was ratified on February 16, 1815. To commemorate the bicentennial of the War of 1812, representatives of the United States, Great Britain, and Canada came together at Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine in Baltimore on June 18th to celebrate 200 years of peace that followed the war.
