Washington Journal Looks at Battleground Ohio

Washington, DC
Friday, November 2, 2012

The Washington Journal concluded its ten-day, ten-state look at battleground states by taking a closer look at Ohio, with its 18 electoral votes.

Ohio has voted for the winner in each of the last 10 presidential elections. The state is hotly contested this year with both campaigns spending both money and time courting what could be the deciding votes in this election. Election analysts have suggested that victory for Republican Candidate Mitt Romney is highly unlikely without winning Ohio.

Over the course of the battleground states series, we heard from top political reporters and analysts in top swing states and also talked to key partisans on both sides of the aisle. Among the issues explored: the political and economic landscape, updates on the presidential race and key Congressional contests, key issues impacting the state, what to watch for on election night and prospects for post-election litigation.
