Washington Journal Looks at Battleground Wisconsin

Washington, DC
Friday, October 26, 2012

The Washington Journal continued it's ten day, ten state look at battleground states by taking a closer look at Wisconsin, with its 10 electoral votes.

Wisconsin is the home state of Republican Vice Presidential Candidate Paul Ryan, who has served as Congressman for the 1st district for 14 years. The state leans Democratic in Presidential elections, but has a Republican governor and has seen some attention from the candidates and their spouses and surrogates since Rep. Ryan was named to the ticket.

Guests today included;  Craig Gilbert, Washington Bureau Chief of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Brian Schimming, vice chair of the Republican Party of Wisconsin, and Mike Tate, Chairman of the Wisconsin Democratic Party.

Over the course of the battleground states series, we will hear from top political reporters and analysts in top swing states and also talk to key partisans on both sides of the aisle. Among the issues we’ll explore: the political and economic landscape, updates on the presidential race and key Congressional contests, key issues impacting the state, what to watch for on election night and prospects for post-election litigation.
