Topic:  Both Russia and China vetoed an attempt by the U.N Security Council to impose sanctions against Syria if the government refused to move troops away from towns and cities and stop attacking rebels.  The vote came as U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta described the situation in Syria as “rapidly spinning out of control”.  Guest, who this year stepped down as the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy, will discuss the United State’s current role plus potential future actions in the country.
