Fmr. Sen. Judd Gregg (R-NH) will discuss recent congressional proposals for deficit reduction; prospects for the Super Committee and other deficit reduction proposals; and his op-ed calling for tax reform that he feels will promote economic growth.

Leo Hindery discusses taxes on the wealthy. He’s a member of Patriotic Millionaires for Fiscal Strength, which wants incomes over $1 million a year to be raised from the current 35% to 39.6%, the rate before the 2001 Bush tax cuts. 

Jack Buckley, National Center for Education Statistics, Commissioner, will discuss how America’s students are achieving in math and reading at the 4th, 8th and the high school levels; how states and the federal government measure educational achievement; and other educationl issues.
