Topic: Guest will discuss the National Flood Insurance Program, which allows insurers to purchase flood insurance policies through select companies.  Last week, the House voted to extend the program for 30 days, the latest in a string of short-term extensions.   While the program is designed to be sustained by policies written by private insurers (and backed by the federal government), the program is in debt due to past flooding disasters.
