Rep. Rob Woodall (R-Ga.), Budget Committee Member

Topic: The House Budget Committee heard from Congressional Budget Director Douglas Elmendorf on the CBO’s economic outlook which included a projected $1 trillion dollar plus deficit by 2012.  Guest will discuss Republican efforts to trim the budget and the deficit as the House is expected to produce its version of the Budget by late March.  On Friday, the House is expected to consider Rep. Woodall’s “Baseline Reform Act”, which would eliminate automatic inflators in discretionary spending.

Topic: A discussion on what came out of yesterday’s Committee hearing with CBO Director Elmendorf as well as a look at the budget struggles ahead for Congress and whether the CBO’s predicted deficits will force Congress to come together on further cuts.  The House Budget Committee will hear from Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke later today.
