Topic:  The Alabama immigration law, passed in 2011, which allows local and state police in Alabama to inquire into immigration status during traffic stops, and bans  providing driver's and business licenses to illegal immigrants.   Also, businesses can be required to use a federal database to verify the immigration status of employees.  Other provisions of the law were blocked by federal courts.
