Washington Journal: "Why Johnny Can't Pay His Pile of Student Loans"

Washington, DC
Thursday, May 3, 2012

University of Maryland Economics Professor Peter Morici believes that college students are unable to pay off their education loans because they are studying the wrong subjects.

Morici discussed his editorial, "Why Johnny can't pay his pile of student loans," on the Washington Journal this morning. He argued that "what students do in college really matters."

Students from Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College in Asheville, North Carolina responded to Professor Morici as C-SPAN launches its Campaign 2012 North Carolina tour today.

The C-SPAN Campaign 2012 Bus is embarking on a week-long tour of universities and towns throughout the state ahead of the May 8 North Carolina Republican presidential primary and the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte this coming September.

Tout, a social media technology company, is partnering with C-SPAN to encourage citizens and students to instantly record and share their thoughts on the presidential campaign.
