ebay CEO Discusses the Changing Face of Commerce

Washington, DC
Wednesday, January 30, 2013

eBay CEO John Donahoe called the current impasse in Washington over the budget deficit “enormously frustrating,” encouraging the President and Congress to consider a framework similar to the Simpson-Bowles plan.

At a discussion hosted by the Wall Street Journal, Mr. Donahoe focused mostly on the future of eBay, describing efforts to take advantage of growth in mobile commerce. A former colleague of Mitt Romney’s at Bain & Company, Mr. Donahoe confessed that he supported President Obama in his bid for re-election, mostly because his wife is U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Human Rights Council.
