In October of 2000, Republican Presidential Candidate Governor George W. Bush and Democratic Candidate Vice President Al Gore faced off in the second of three presidential debates. It was held at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and the moderator was PBS News Anchor Jim Lehrer.

1960 Kennedy - Nixon Presidential Debate

On September 26th 1960, presidential candidates Senator John F. Kennedy and Vice President Richard M. Nixon participated in the first-ever televised presidential candidates’ debate. Several people who were directly involved, including Don Hewitt, Howard K. Smith, Ted Sorensen and Herbert Klein, describe the historic debate. This discussion was held in the same location, Studio 1 of WBBM TV-Chicago, as the Kennedy-Nixon debate.
