AEI Scholars Review Pres. Obama's Foreign Policy Plans

In anticipation of the State of the Union, the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) hosted a forum on foreign and defense policy challenges the President will face in 2013.

Panelists discussed the state of the nation's foreign policy, including how President Obama will address the subject in his upcoming State of the Union address. Other policy topics included; China’s growing power, Iran’s nuclear program, and continued operations in Afghanistan. 

AEI scholars Daniel Blumenthal, Thomas Donnelly, Frederick Kagan, and Danielle Pletka reviewed the foreign policy and national security team that President Obama is assembling for his second term.

Following their prepared remarks, panelists answered questions from members of the audience.

Perry”, a federal challenge to the 2008 amendment to the California constitution known as Prop 8, which eliminated the  right of same-sex couples to marry in California.  And on March 27: “ United States v. Windsor, “ a challenge to “ DOMA”, the 1996 Defense of Marriage act, which defines marriage for all federal purposes as the union of one man and one woman. The Court will release the audio on the same days as the arguments—and you’ll hear them as soon as they become available on C-SPAN Radio.
