The Arizona Historical Foundation held a conference on "Goldwater at 100: His Politics, Ideology and Legacy," at Arizona State University. Barry Goldwater (1909-1998) was a five-term United States Senator from Arizona from 1953–1965 and 1969–1987. He was also the Republican Party's nominee for president in the 1964 election. Goldwater biographer Robert Alan Goldberg gave the keynote address at the conference.
