Clark University Professor Cynthia Enloe discusses the role women play in military conflicts and how more needs to be done to get them involved in preventing and resolving those conflicts.
She spoke as part of a lecture series hosted by the Liechtenstein Institute at Princeton University. Topics include: outreach efforts to women in Afghanistan, the lack of women in the newly formed Syrian provisional government and efforts to address sexual assault in the U.S. military.
Professor Enloe spoke in November, two months before outgoing defense secretary Leon Panetta announced that women would no longer be prevented from participating in combat roles.
